Heading to the Littoral Region to Promote Energy Transition through Women’s Entrepreneurship!
Empowerment, Support, and Training for Women : A Commitment at the Heart of the Partnership!
On Saturday, November 9, 2024, three associations of enterprising women in Bonamoussadi, Bonaberi, and Bomono, neighborhoods in the city of Douala in the Littoral region of Cameroon, were trained on the importance of promoting green energy and ecological transition through women’s entrepreneurship. During two hours of educational discussions with the team from the Centre for Communication and Sustainable Development for All (CECOSDA) and SolarDjangui, they learned about green entrepreneurship and gained the skills needed to navigate the world of commerce and sales.
Convinced that energy transition represents a genuine opportunity for sustainable development, they have joined the network and are now committed to promoting solar energy within their communities. As SolarDjangui distributors, these inspiring women play a vital role in promoting sustainable lighting solutions, contributing not only to improving local living conditions but also to strengthening the economic independence of their households.
In addition to becoming distributors of Schneider Electric’s solar products, they receive training in entrepreneurship and management, enhancing their skills to develop their businesses. This support enables them to gain financial autonomy while playing a key role in the energy transition of their region.
It is in this context that the SolarDjangui initiative and the commitment of women entrepreneurs become crucial. By providing reliable and affordable solar lighting solutions, they are helping reduce dependence on polluting energy sources and offering their communities a sustainable and beneficial alternative in the long term.
The women of the SolarDjangui network, beyond strengthening their economic empowerment through solar kit distribution, actively raise awareness in their communities about the advantages of solar energy and sustainable practices, becoming true agents of change within their networks. They are part of an approach that positively impacts both the environment and the local economy, contributing to a cleaner, fairer future for all.
